December 2018

Once I bought my machine and got through making the DIY personalized Christmas elves, I knew I needed to dig further if I was going to understand the full capacities of my new Cricut Air 2 machine.  I watched many You Tube Channels before I located Jennifer Maker and Melody Lane.   I credit Jennifer for the initial enabling of the Cricut machines. While watching Jennifer’s video, I noticed an “unboxing” video created by Melody Lane.  When I was through with Jennifer’s helpful video, I clicked on Melody’s “unboxing” video.  I was immediately connected to her online personality. After watching her video, I was able to do my own :”unboxing” without my original fears. Melody became my “Go To” Cricut guru.

I followed Melody Lane on You Tube. I subscribed to her channel, so I knew when she would be online next! Saturday mornings at 11 am were set aside to watch Melody live on You Tube as well as Tuesday at noon.  Melody shared her knowledge of Cricut Design Space willingly. She soon taught me enough to want to venture out to teach Cricut in my own community.

April and October 2020

I eventually got a teaching gigs, first, at Joann’s Fabrics, and in October, 2020, I was hired by Michael’s to teach inside there store as well. I quickly grew out of my shell of fear of teaching in front of other people. I shared my journeys with them and most of the students felt more at ease after attending one or more of my classes.

March 2021

Covid-19 made its way into our communities and soon we were all let go (supposedly temporarily), but Covid-19 was not ready to leave us alone. .

Throughout Covid-19 I followed Melody Lane. My self-confidence and skillsets in Design Space greatly improved.
